Today with the advancement of technology – when indoor board games are changed to 3 Dimensional computer games, video tapes are changed to pen drives, Desktop PC are converted to Tablet PC, Public Transport has replaced Buses with Metros, The entire world has changed with no limitations of geographical boundaries as any body can be in touch with every body just with a click of the mouse. In such a scenario definition of security is also changed completely along with the change in the types of threats. Threats are no more limited to simple burglary but it has changed its entire form and motive. It can also go upto the extent of taking human lives. Nowadays it had become very easy to break into a premises with the help of high tech gadgets in a very short span of time. Hence with a change in the type of threat it has become mandatory to change the types of protection also in the form of advanced Security Systems for Home and Workplace.

Security Systems today can be categorised in to three major heads:-

This pertains to security at Residential level where major objective is to prevent burglary or theft or loss/damage of assets at home. This may include Burglar Alarm Systems, Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control Systems etc. These alarm systems generally come along with a panel and then various sensors installed at suitable locations of  the house. This panel – sensors configuration can be wired as well as wireless depending on the technology utilised, cost implications and area of the house.

Pertains to the big infrastructure complexes where apart from ensuring security of assets, safety of human lives is also a major concern. Hence the security systems are no more limited to alarm panels, but are expanded to a plethora of product ranges like Metal Detctors, Under Vehicle Scanner Systems, Baggage Scanners, Bomb Detectors, Road Blockers, Tyre Killers etc. These infrastructure complexes may include Oil Refineries, Museums, big temple complexes, Office Complexes, Govt Buildings, Banks, Airports, Places of tourist ineterst etc.

is all about securing borders and is related to security measures taken at Defence Forces level.

Today with the increased awareness about the security threats, unfortunately more becuase of the terror attacks to nations, Security Industry is on the Boom. And its because of this reason, when most of the business world was experiencing the set back of economic recession, companies dealing in Security Products were still growing.

It is unfortunate that current security market is driven more by fear than the conscious awareness about the need of same. Hope that in  the coming time fear will be replaced by courage and responsibility of securing our home and workplace at all the time.
